If you are only installing OSX, OS 9.1 will work just fine and you will not need OS9 Helper > and a > better 16 Mb videocard (Radeon 7000 is best I think), Vid cards are kind of hard to settle on, some will not let you install at all, others will work just fine for installing/using OSX, but they will not be accelerated. The common IMS/IXMicro TwinTurbo 128 cards are like this. OSX has no problem with them, but they are not accelerated in OSX. The Radeon7K is probably the best all around, but it has its own problems, get OSX 10.1.5 or Jaguar installed before you get around to messing with the video cards. > min. 3 GbHD + > 128MB RAM (you have). =) Min 2GB if you don't install the dev tools. I would suggest at least 4GB. Better yet, get an AHARD ATA66 card (or Sonnet Tempo 66) for about $50US and a 20GB HD. For around $175 you'll have plenty of room, and both cards work well under OSX, sometimes even better than the onboard ATA for the Beige G3 and B&W G3 (no 8GB limit). BTW if you don't know what the 8GB limit deal is, read up before installing. And get another 128MB RAM, 128 is bare minimum and just about useless if you run Classic. 384MB is even better. At $25 that is *very* cheap upgrade. And don't forget that the OSX Center at OtherWorldComputing <www.macsales.com> has most everything you need for getting OSX running on these machines. Pay Ryan the $10 to register with the support forum, you'll be glad you did. -Robyn -- SuperMacs is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
