Jeff, I have grown rather attached to an external drive box that contains an old 6 GB laptop drive. It has both a firewire and a PCMCIA cable. I find it really useful for transferring and installing software updates, virus definitions, and the like around to all of our various systems. (The 9600 and C600 both have firewire cards) I am also finding it handy for bringing "stuff" home from work. However, it will only boot the laptop, via the PC card cable.
