This is the same model I have. I replaced the WD 1.2GB HD with one I purchased from ebay (anyone want a perfectly good 1.2GB HD?). Replacing the drive is fairly simple, although you have to remove the CD drive in the process. I think it is explained in the manual how to do it. Either that or it is self explanatory. I replaced it before joining this list and didn't have to ask anyone for help. Of course back up all your files beforehand. I burned the complete contents of my old HD onto two CD's and then transfered that onto the new larger HD. I've also upgraded the process with a Sonnet G3/350 (I think that's the speed -- all these numbers get confusing). Again, this was fairly easy since it plugs into the L2 cache slot. Someone in an earlier post mentioned that with this type of card, running OSX isn't possible. I don't think that the C500's, even with an upgraded ZIF-style processor, are fast enough for OSX anyway. With the G3 upgrade, the computer is faster than before, but nothing like my iMac at work. If you don't have the money for a new (or new-to-you) Mac, the upgrades are a good option. Especially if you have already added more memory. BTW, I now am running OS9 (need to upgrade to 9.1 here soon) with no problem. Also have a USB card installed which I use to download digital camera pictures and transfer files to/from my iMac at work with a Compact Flash card reader. I hope this helps.
