Has anyone had any luck getting the UL2D (recently $30 at OWC, but now $50) to work in the S900? I'm getting a gray screen freeze when I try to use it. It won't go in slot 1 because the PCI edge connector for 64 bit use is blocked by the E100 slot extender, so I tried it in slot 2. I didn't even get to lower slot testing.
I tried two different UL2D cards and they both work fine in a Beige G3. The exact same SCSI bus is connected to a 2940UW. In fact, I just pulled the cable off of the 2940UW and replaced it with the UL2D. The cable and terminator are LVD class and the two drives on the cable are LVD drives. I've just been operating them in single-ended mode up till now. Anyway, the main point is, has anyone used a UL2D in the S900 or J700 with success?
