Alan -- Thanks for the heads up on xpostfacto; I'll check that out.
The Yamaha 8424S CDRW drive is internal -- it replaced the dead original drive (a Matsushita, IIRC). I have tried the various CD extensions and drivers, including original and hacked Apple OS8.6, InTech's CD driver, and a couple others, all to no avail. Any help appreciated.
