Hello to all with a Umax S900. This is probably a question that has been repeatedly asked but... currently, I am attempting to switch from OS 9.1 to OS X version 10.1.2. I am experiencing installation problems of course and in need of help.
The stats on my computer are: NewerTech G3 originally running at 250 mhz now 305 mhz, 288 MB ram, IXMirco TwinTurbo card, Apple CD-Rom 300i, the stock 2 GB Quantum Fireball scsi hard drive, internal Zip drive, internal APS Tech CD-RW and Belkin USB and Firewire PCI card. I have yet to install a ATA PCI card and hard drive. I have both XPostFacto 2.2.5 and Sonnet's PCI X Installer 1.2.6. Using XPostFacto, I would get the 640 x ... on screen but nothing else would continue, even after a period of 30 minutes or more. Since I am using NewerTech's G3, Sonnet's software was recommended and worked until trying to boot into OS X. I get the black screen. On some attempts during restart while waiting about 5 minutes or so it boots back to 9.1.
