Hi all!

I installed Jaguar yesterday and thought I'd come back to the list with a
big "wohooo", but well,...it sucks.
I knew my ProTV card would not work, since Formac offers no drivers and I'm
not aware of any third party drivers for the card.

But what I did not expect was that my Lite-On drive would not work. It works
perfectly in OS 9, as a CD drive and as a burner, supported by Toast,
iTunes, Charismac and, for reading CDs, by the Apple standard driver.

But in X: Nada. System Profiler wont see it, not even the tray opens. It
doesn't work as a CD-ROM, and iTunes and Toast also wont recognize it. I
tested every combination with the ATA card: master, slave, cable select,
single drive on IDE Bus 1, IDE Bus 2, different PCI slots, nothing happens.
And, really, without the burner OS X is pretty useless for me, I'm doing
lots with music and burning, and I fear I wasted 150 Euros.
If anyone has an idea how to make it work, please tell me! Are you aware of
any third party drivers for X? Anyone using an IDE drive with the same
adapter card in OS X?

Here the details:

S900 with G3/450, Radeon7000
Lite-On LTR 12101B (officially supported in iTunes)
Acard ATA66 (AEC6260) PCI card in slot 3 (tested also in 1+2)
OS X 10.2.4
2 HDs connected to the Acard (1 master, 1 slave @IDE Bus 1, CDRW is master
on the other channel).

Help... :,-(
