That is correct.  It is EDO memory soldered on the motherboard so if 
Sonnett says EDO can't work on machines faster than 180 MHz, that 
means any C series machine shipping with the 240 or 280 MHz CPUs 
aren't supposed to work.  Sonnett is wrong.
