Thanks again to those who have responed to my call for help. I have an update and more questions to ask.
I have given up on the WD drive becuase "drive setup" says that it is un supported. I have corrected the terminator settings on my cdroms and zip drives to be: cdrom 1 ID 1 cdrom 2 ID 3 Zip ID 2 and terminated. Should I switch the ID of cdrom 2 and zip or is that just me being silly? I can now at least boot from a floppy or the zip. I must have a defective os 9 disk, but anyways. My task now is to get the Quantum Viking drive to be seen by the drive setup software. I have a link to the settings for the drive from Maxtor it is http://www.maxtor.com/en/documentation/pdf_jumper_settings/viking_jumpers.pd f. The drive I have starts at page 4 I think, because on the bottom of the drive I have a TE and a TP setting which are both jumpered (closed). My question is, how would I set this Viking drive up to the only unit on the wide scsi bus? I am also assuming that because "drive setup lite" dones not complete the bus scan (I have to force quit it) that it has to be a termination problem.
