Thanks to all who responded with suggestions on my missing 40 gigs....It
really was a jumper problem.  The sprcified settings were for a windows
machine.  I followed thenm and came up w/32 gigs...as soon as I removed the
recomended jumper block, re formatted for Mac, the problem was solved.  All
is well and thanks again!
