I'm using Mozilla quite nicely.  Mozilla is the open source version 
of the Netscape browser.  Both use the Gecko rendering engine which 
is likely why you are seeing the speed increase.  Since it is open 
source and Netscape related, it will easily find your Netscape 
profile and you won't lose anything.  It is also a modular install so 
you don't need to install Chatzilla or the mail/newsgroup 
reader--Eudora & Newswatcher are much better (or what I know 
better...) for those tasks.  The biggest difference will be in that 
Netscape will tie the user in much tighter to the Netscape portal and 
services.  Mozilla will default to the Mozilla home page if there is 
no profile present but does use the Netscape search portal which can 
easily be switched to Google.  Try them both but also keep in mind 
Mozilla on Classic is probably end of the line at 1.2.1.  Classic 
apps are quickly fading from view, alas.
