Howdy Jacqueline, I don't know if this will apply to your situation, but quite a while back after having installed a PowerLogix G4/500 and it running fine for a while, I did some other hardware changes that led to a blank screen and an apparent inability to power up. After many trials I eventually found that I had to restore the original CPU and push the CUDA to get back up. Once I had done that, I was able to reinstall the G4 and my other hardware. I have been running fine ever since.
My point is that it appears - at least for *my* S900 - that some kinds of resets can only take place with the original 604e CPU. Once reset, upgrades can proceed. If you are able to get back up without your XLR8 G3 Zif, it does not necessarily mean that the G3 is bad; only that the 604e is needed to do a reset. If so, I would suggest retrying the G3 and then your SIIG, with CUDA reset between successive steps. Best of luck, Gary G >Hi. >I have installed it and now I only a blank screen.
