I'm not sure, cause I didn't read the original, but if this has to do with
Security Certificates in IE, I struggled with this one for quite a while!

Essentially I had my S900 which I had moved stuff from one system folder to
another across the three drives in it. I had also removed a drive from a OS
X computer back into it, so all kinds of hell were breaking out. The
weirdest thing was that I couldn't access sites that had outdated Security
Certificates! IE just said that the link couldn't load! I checked with site
admins and they said their site worked fine.... I then did a clean install
on my 8500 and got it on the net with IE. Accessing the sites no problem. I
spent weeks trying to figure out where the damn security certificates are
stored and what not. (still don't really know) I finally found some where
that the Internet control panel preferences has some of this info that IE
accesses. Deleted it and then voila, success!

I dont recommend doing this lightly. After trashing these prefs, count on a
significant amount of time re-inputing preferences info... Not fun. But I
was finally able to connect to sites that had out dated security
certificates.
