Should be fine as the boot drive with an Adaptec Power Domain card.
I got an U2B from Jeff W in horse trading for the Sapphires and then I
was offered another two identical cards cheap from a guy in Scotland -
which I took.
One card is running in my 8600 with a 9GB Cheetah 10k 160 as the
boot and only device on the 68 pin chain on a terminated ribbon - the 50
pin chain is terminated by the zip.
Another is in my Pulsar waiting to be connected as I can't get the
power supply connectors to fit with a drive in bay seven and a drive in
bay 6 without an extender. Bay seven will only take a drive - no space
for an adapter - so I've got a 68 pin IBM 9LP for that bay and I've
fitted an extra fan (from Jeff) to the bay cage to help circulate the air
around it and the mess of devices and cables above it.
The other card is going in my 8500 to control the boot drive/s -
when I get around to it...
None of my 80 pin drives has the termination via jumpers option...
