While we're still at this topic;

Irregardless of which program can perform the non-destructive
partitioning, i would like to continue advocating it would be better to
have an additional drive installed, especially in a Apple G4 in question
because it's a very easy operation and drives are very affordable.

The benefits of this would be numerous in addition to NOT having to
resort to this non-destructive partitioning feature.
I think a secondary HD in most Macs is a 'must have' and rank it higher
on the list then upgrading to a faster processor or newer OS.

Hope this doesn't come across as being opinionated...
Just wanted to steer the original poster to a potentially better solution.
