The benefits of this would be numerous in addition to NOT having to resort to this non-destructive partitioning feature. I think a secondary HD in most Macs is a 'must have' and rank it higher on the list then upgrading to a faster processor or newer OS. Hope this doesn't come across as being opinionated...
