Hi!
I have an Umax S900 or Pulsar, with E100 UW ethernet combo card and two 604e processors.
Since there is no support for MacOS I tried Debian-Linux and for my work email , www and writing its okay. So far the only thing that doesnt work is the E100 card.
So my question is where can I get detailed informations about this card, and the Umax S900 itself, so that the linuxprogrammers can support the E100 and Umax S900.
It could be great if Umax can give their docs and technical info stuff to the Linuxcommunity.
But who has the infosrmation, since there is no Umax macsupport more and is it possible to get them for free :-)? Anyone knows which people I could ask about that or has informations?

I've run linux on this s900dp for several years now. I tried several times to get the E100 card to work without success. IIRC, the SCSI chip is a qlogic 1040 and the enet chip is a DEC 21xxx of some sort. I think I got the 100baseT working, but the mac firmware and combo nature of the card wreaked havoc upon my attempts at getting the UW SCSI going. The driver in the kernel would recognize the qlogic, but would error out after loading and checksumming the firmware. I tried it with both the Umax and Jackhammer firmware to no avail. If you do manage to get it working, I would be interested in your solution. I am currently using the built in enet and a firmwareless pc adaptec ultrawide card because I could not find suitable drivers for the E100 and linux.
