While following this thread as I too have a challenged C500. I found and purchased a 240 mhz processor for my yet uninstalled C500, from Mac-Pro in Campbell. It seemed to be the most cost effective. The hook-up for a C-500 is unique.I have a line on an "XLR8 ZIF Carrier, and ZIF processor." I'm told that "the carrier allows for using your choice of ZIF G3 or G4 up to about 600 MHz. It is usable in most clones, including the C500."
