Hi everyone,
I recently recieved an S900 from an ebay auction. When I turned it on, I recieved a blinking question mark on a disk. After holding down the shift key, I managed to get it to partially boot into OS 9. It stops before getting to the desktop and gives me an error to do with the CD driver or toolkit. I have no vested interest in what is on the drive at the moment, so my plan was to boot from CD, format the drive, and reinstall the OS. I tried to hold down "C" when booting, but I recieve the blinking question mark disk when I do this and the CD tray opens (as if there wasn't a cd in the tray). Any suggestions? I'm thinking that booting from a floppy might be my next option. Possibly a bad CD ROM drive (even though you can tell it is trying to read the CD)? Or could it be something else? I was wanting to buy a larger HD for this machine, would it be wise to buy a new one and try to install OS onto it? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
