What is the quad flat CPU package? As I said the C500 came with 140-240 cpu's so the 180MHz should clearly work. A long shot...you don't have any PCi cards installed that won't run with the 180MHz CPU which runs the machine at a bus of 36MHz do you? Could there be a software or extensions issue when changing to a slower speed? I do remember I did have a hard time getting some cpu's to set correctly in the Zif socket and then it wouldn't boot also a bent pin could cause problems. Does the 180 still work in the C600? Best of luck Will S

Quad flat refers to the CPU packaging. Quad flat means the CPU is mounted to the PCB by pins sticking out of each side of the CPU. I can rework those types.

It turns out, but worrying the CPU (changing it in, changing it out), they now work. Maybe I should of tried the CUDA.

thanks,
