Phase 5 produced the Maccerate! series of processor upgrades, which also
included the Aptus G3 models which can be seen as the equivalence of the
Mactell upgrades for the C500 and C600. Would be nice if someone finds a
truckload of them now!

Yes indeed, I was waiting to order a Promised G4 for the C500 when they went under...

Will, not sure if I have heard of Mac Power, has anyone got an example or
information on its C500/600 upgrades?

Hello and snips taken...

Mactell was the name I was trying to think of they made C500/C600 G3 upgrades under license from Umax which designed and made a few of them. G3 280 & 320 MHz I believe good but hard to find now days. There were a number of list members who had them a few years back. They also made daughter card G3's for the PCI Macs. later Will S

PS. I have a rare G3 240/250 MHz Umax Zif for the C500/600 only 5 were known to be made! It can be used with the cache doubler card and the machine runs at 80MHz bus speed! My c500 is still setup with it but rarely used these days.later it's sleep time! Will S

PS. I'm under the impression that all SGII Mac cards are made by Acard but they make their own PC IDE cards. But it is hard to get clear info..
There is also another lesser-known G3 and G4 upgrade maker called FastMac:

But the products are more geared towards later models though.

All the best,

Sam.
