ATI as the granter of ATI chip licenses has I believe dictated this flash ROM
 chip change for the sole purpose  of stopping PC cards from being flashed  to
 Mac.

I am still dubious about this 128K vs. 64K issue. As I mentioned in an earlier post, the two 64 MB Saphire cards which I have have a 64K serial flash on them. Now, I must admit, I have not actually gotten around to testing them, but I've had them for a good long time and received them from a trustworthy list member, so I think there's is either more going on than a change to 64K or the folks driving that discussion are mistaken.
