Yeah, it probably has a nasty old sleeve bearing.  I had to oil the fan on my
PC's GeForce3 Ti500 heatsink not too long ago, and it requires frequent oiling
now since the thing gets so hot it decomposes my light machine oil.  I probably
ought to try some lightweight motor oil, but I think I'll just replace the
heatsink/fan entirely.

You can get replacement fans of just about any size from a place like
http://www.2cooltek.com.  It's a PC modding site, but most of the hardware will
work on anything.  Just figure out the dimensions of your fan and go to town!
