You need to use Apple CDROM extension 5.3.1 from OS 7.6.1. You can get it from :

http://www.macdrivermuseum.com/disk.html

Just replace the CDROM extension on your 8.6 system with this one.

Hi
I was lucky enough to be given a UmaxPulsar which I think is also Known
as a j700. I have installed Mac OS 8.5 and the 8.6 update. Previously it
was running 8.0 or 8.1. All works well except for the fact that I can no
longer access any disks I put into the cdrom drive unless it is an OS boot
disk.
Is there a way to get the cdrom back ?

Regards STeve Jarvis
