thanks Alan,
thats a pain! Was thinking of Panther. So Need an ATA card and drive to
install OS X on an s900. Anyone else on the list managed with only SCSI
drives?

Hi Greg-

My original installation of 10.2.2 went on to a 4 Gb removable (in a dock) SCSI drive.
I ran for quite a while with that and had no problem except that it was a little slow.
Not annoyingly slow. When I upgraded to 10.2.8, I wasn't sure if I would lose any
functionality so I put it on the ATA drive. I can start up or restart into either
drive in Jaguar. The drive that I lost was the OEM 2Gb internal SCSI and the function
of the ATTO fast SCSI PCI card and attached 9 Gb drive. Some things work and some
don't. As long as you can reboot back into 9.x, You can get those items up and running.
