I have limited personal experience with DVD-R media (have successfully
burned a couple of 4X BMI disks in my Pioneer A105 so far) but have done a
fair amount of research. Every report I've seen on this, as well as personal
recommendations, point to Verbatim as one of the best media brands. I've
been very happy with their CD-RWs and a fellow instructor who teaches DVD
authoring highly recommends the Verbatim brand (seems to be very compatible
with most DVD players and more robust than many other brands). I've heard
this on the MacDV list as well. Your local price seems pretty good to me ...
you might want to check out eCost.com as well just to compare.

Hope this helps.
