I've been reading Ryan's site at OWC. I seem to follow the overall procedure but have one question. Do you have to go from OS 9.1 to 10 to 10.1 to 10.1.5 to 10.2 to 10.2.8 to 10.3? Can you go directly from 9.1 to 10.2 with the correct version of XPF? Is it all a building block, how many OS versions do you need to buy, etc? How many versions of XPF do you need to use? These are the things I wish someone would answer for me. Thanks, PaulYou can go directly from 9.1 to 10.2 or to 10.3. You only need use a single version of XPF. The "a10" version has worked well for me. You only need to buy a single OS version. If I were you, I'd go straight to Panther (10.3), then run the updates to get up to 10.3.2.
Just to be clear: you don't really "update" 9.1 to 10.x. You will want to retain a 9.1 for use as "Classic". Install XPF on your 9.1, then run XPF to install a 10.x. You will end up with *both* a 9.1 and a 10.x system. They could even be on the same partition, although most folks prefer to have them on separate partitions. Hope this helps.
