Help! I get DSL service Via Earthlink. Several years ago the MacPoet(sp)? server for the Detroit
area went sour, and I was unable to access the internet. The techs tried everything, reloading
software, reloading the OS- they knew that they had a local problem but were unable to come to a
quick solution. Upon their advice I purchased an Asante 3004C 4 port router, they(Earthlink) helped
with configuration, assigned a static IP address and I was good to go. When I upgraded to OS9.1 and
added a few drives something became corrupted and Earthlink helped me reestablish my connection. I
just went from 160 to 912MB of ram, and am about to install a G4 upgrade and a Radon 7000 for
Mac.When I visit the OWC website (www.macsales.com) I find I am unable to e-mail them, access
downloads or sign up for the OSX Tech site. In each instance I get an error message stating they
are unable to validate a certificate from eshop.macsales using OSCP due to a date which is in the
future??? This sounds like a proxy issue, right? BUT- the setup for the router directed me to set up
my Netscape 7.01 proxy page with"direct connection to the internet", thus putting all the choices at
the Asante Router. Does anyone know what I should do now? Would this be covered in a software
upgrade of the Router? Iam quite ignorant on networking so detailed advice and explanations would be
appreciated,on list or off list, to me. Earthlink says it is between Asante and Netscape and offers
no help at this time as their ISP connection is functioning. Thanks, Paul
