I've come across a used/clean HP LaserJet 4000n with 32mb of RAM installed and also has the JetDirect network card. Anyone have any first-hand experienc with these printers ?
You could do far, far worse than the 4000 series. Print out a test page and see how many pages have been run through it and it also may tell you the amount of toner left. HP's Laser Jet utility in OS 9 or Print Center in X make setup quite easy. Another item worth considering would be a duplex unit to save paper. I'm looking for one for a Lexmark Optra S 1625 printer. Trust me, a B & W laser printer ends up far more economical than an ink jet printer, especially when you can buy a good used laser unit. Jump on it.
