I can't answer all your questions, but I can say that I'm using a Radeon 7000 and a Sonnet G4/450 in an S900 with Jaguar with no problems. I've made one attempt to install Panther, using XPostFacto, but could not get the system to start up from the installer disk. I understand that Sonnet has a Panther installer for the Crescendo cards in the works, but there was no release date the last time I checked.
I hope to have time later this weekend to reread the XPF documentation to see if I made a mistake somewhere.
