It's been awhile since I've dealt with any real problems, and now my memory is "fuzzy" on my troubleshooting skills. I'd appreciate your help to figure out a plan of action.
J700, OS 9.1, 640 MB, Sonnet Crescendo 500 PCI, ethernet PCI card (slot A1), firewire PCI card, USB PCI card My Apple ROM'd 8X CD-ROM has stopped working. I replaced the stock CD about 2 years ago when it died. Just last week it was working, as I used it to run Norton as I was diagnosing a HD problem. Then, a day or so later, none of the CD's I try will mount. The drive has power as the tray will eject and retract, but nothing mounts, and it doesn't show up in Apple Profiler.
