Hmmm, being the subject is about prepping for X, I just realized something
about turning off the Start-Up Memory Test. Does the process apply to OSX?

I assume (possibly in error) that OSX still performs the test of the memory
when booting up? But obviously there is no Memory CP in X to turn off. So,
does a test of ram occur? Is there a yet unrevealed method to turn it off,
thereby allowing X to come alive sooner? I don't recall anything in XPF and
there are no setting is the prefs. Could there be something in the Root?

Or, because XPF jumpstarts OSX (if it does this continuously in our
machines?), then does whether there is a start up test depend on what we set
it at while last in OS9?

Inquiring minds want to know...
