I was never able to get OS 9.2.1 to run on my C-500, but I didn't try OS 9 Helper. I suspect your problem with the CD-Rom is the OS 9.2.1 driver extensions won't work with a non-Apple CD-Rom. If you can get 9.2.1 to work, then you just have to got to Intech (http://www.intechusa.com/) & download their Speedtools software. It runs about $50, but it is well worth it. It will help out with your non-Apple CD-Rom. I'd be lost without my Speedtools. It was money well spent. Perhaps the collective genius has some other suggestions. I know that FWB used to have software for this purpose, but I don't think they kept up as well as the Intech folks. My two cents worth, anyway.
