Does your microphone jack work? If your internal speaker is not working, it could be that the speaker is broken, but it could also be that the wires to the speaker and possibly the wires to the front speaker and microphone jack have come loose. I would check the array of tiny cables and pins at the front of the motherboard to see if any of the cables have come unplugged. Of course, you may have already done that.


You see, if the cable to the front speaker jack has come unplugged, that would disable the built in speaker as well, because when that cable is unplugged, the Mac thinks that something is plugged into the external speaker jack. It also disables the rear speaker jack.

And the cable for the microphone jack is right next to the front speaker jack cable, so if one is unplugged, it's possible the other came unplugged at the same time.
