Maybe you mean that you can't use both of the Ethernet jacks on the card at once? There is the "standard" Ethernet jack and then the AUI or AAUI or whatever that other weird one is. You CAN use the Ethernet jacks and have an AppleTalk connection over the printer or the modem jacks, in fact I have my S900 working as a bridge so that our iMac can print to an AppleTalk printer.
