Hi all, I'm still using 9.1 on a J700 as our primary computer. The internet connection is through a cable modem.
I'd like to know how to use the original Airport base station M7601LL/B with the cable modem so I could still have a working direct ethernet connection with the J700 and also the capability to use a newer airport equipped G4 laptop to access the net with the wireless connection via the base station. The base station has 1 ethernet port and 1 modem port. I've tried to do some research to see if it is possible, and it appears I need an ethernet hub which would allow direct connections to the J700 and base station at the same time. Is this correct? Beyond this I am lost. I'm lost in regards to network specs, TCP/IP choices, Airport software, etc. First of all, is what I desire feasible? Any ideas, suggestions, or recommendations would be appreciated. Also, in an unrelated topic, I am finally considering an upgrade up to Jaguar, which I finally have access to. Is there any site available that could give recommendations on this upgrade. I'm concerned about finding out about how my present hardware (hard drives, video cards, USB card, CD burner, scanner, printer, etc.) might have problems or not. Thanks again.
