Hi Jacqueline,

First thing is do you have Conflict Catcher installed?

If so when you boot up hold down the space bar until conflict Catcher opens up set it to boot base extensions. I never used the extension manager so I don't even know if you can get it to give you that choice.

If your machine boots with no problems or error messages. Then the next step is to boot with the machine with OS all extensions. If you still have no problems than you have a third party extension problem. If you are getting the error message about QuickTime it is possible that you have a corrupt extension. Disable one extension at a time until you can boot.

Another thing I would suggest is that you rebuild the desktop. I don't know what OS you are running but with 9.1 you could also trash Apple Menu Options preferences as well as the Finder and System preferences. These do cause problems.

I have two S900's that I now have running Jaguar 2.8 without a single problem for over a year and a half. I plan to take one of them up to Panther very soon or to Tiger.

I will watch the list to see how you are doing. These S900's are really a solid machine and work hard without many problems on OSX. Unfortunately they do not have the same problem free operation on the earlier OS's.

Richard

Hi.
Thought I was back in business with my S900. Apparently the problem was not the power supply. After I put it all back together I can get it to start the boot process, then I get an error message to restart with extensions off. With the extensions off, all the drives show up but I don't know what extension or extensions might be the problem. One error is "number 10" another having to do with 'Quicktime" and another "illegal instruction". Any ideas or should I give up on it?
Thanks again
Jacqueline
