With that said, I am still pretty amazed that this machine runs the (until 2 weeks ago) most current available Mac OS X.
(It did require the addition of a $25 (ebay) Rage 128 video card to make the leap to Panther, though.)
It's not dead yet, but if it suffered a major hardware failure, it would be gone pretty quick.

When I first joined the 840 AV list OS 8.6 was just out and OS 8 was still fairly modern, I gave $ 35 for my 840 AV, now the list has gone dead and she is best used as a door stop.
If I had only kept my Lisa !!!
