Which Sonnet G4 card were you trying?

Sorry to be so long in replying - my computer access is a little limited right now. ((:-(

It's the G4 450 card, and I've used it in the system for quite some time now. The only real trouble I've had with it is that sometimes if I've made changes in the system software, I've had to go back to the UMAX processor and OS 9, reinstall the Sonnet software, then reinstall the G4 card and go back to OS X via XPostFacto.

I've even considered the possibility that the old internal drive with OS 9 on it had just happened to die at the worst possible time, but that doesn't explain why I can't start up from the UMAX CD. Simultaneous failures of the drive, the original processor, and the CD drive are a little hard to accept!

I'm trying Antonio's suggestions, but I'm beginning to fear that the old machine has finally reached the end of the line.
