No.  My ancient Eudora Lite 3.0.6 still has features that I don't find
in Thunderbird.


I think Beau's reference was to the fact that if you are going to use a standalone newsreader, it might make more sense to use one designed for the purpose.

I dabbled with Xnews a bit on Windows, and it seemed to work pretty well. I really like the convenience of an all in one email/newsgroup/rss client, but if I were to select an application just for newsgroups, I would probably look for something more fully featured for that.
