When I reply to a message it just says "Bill Wrote" rather than

Is this for email or for news posts?
When I forward a message it lists the full header.
Forwarding a news post via email?
You probably mean something like:
"On 22/4/2010 3:08 AM, Bill wrote to Test:"
All of that information is contained in the post (or email) you are
replying to. There isn't a real need to repost it .. and of course
all further replies will have it continuously embedded in the quoted
material.
Personally, I spend a few seconds with my replies trimming those
attribute novellas. Nobody has ever complained.
Is there a way to list the full header on reply?

I didn't seem to find what I'd like to do at that link, which I also
think is what the poster was asking. I'd like to have this
information appear when I reply to an email:
-------- Original Message --------
Subject: What bill said
Date: Tue, 20 Apr 2010 19:49:41 -0700
From: John Doe<[email protected]>
To: Steve Doe<[email protected]>
How about this:
http://kb.mozillazine.org/Reply_header_settings
..which is linked from the first link above.
This is not normal that we need an extension to perform in a reply what
is present when we do a forward. It's better to have in the preference a
menu permitting an option like For a Reply : Use a "Forward" header
instead of "NNN wrote:" [X]
