I seem to remember making a change in about:config, some many years ago,

made in SeaMonkey 1.1.19? If so, how do I accomplish this task?

My wife is having problems writing to the Facebook wall of her friends
while using SeaMonkey 1.1.19. I am told that "User Agent Switcher" will
fix this problem. Is installing "User Agent Switcher" the best way to
fix this problem?

((Yes, I know, this problem does not exist in SeaMonkey 2; however, that
introduces a new problem--how do I get her to switch to SeaMonkey 2.
She seems entrenched on SeaMonkey 1.1.19 and getting her to move may be
more of a problem than finding a fix for SeaMonkey 1.1.19.))

Thanks for any help you send my way on this subject.

about:config

Type in search user agent.

when user agent string comes up double-click on and on the end */not Firefox 3.0*

If you do this it will forever identify SM to sites as FF. I know the SM developers don't like this. But With SM1 officially dead and buried. I don't suppose it would not make a lot of difference.

Thanks everybody for your help.

I am having difficulty following your instructions in the above message. Where exactly do I "type in search user agent"? I did open about:config and typed that phrase in the blank space that starts with "Filter", nothing happened. I then typed in "user agent", and again that did not give me any results. I next looked down through the lines of information included in about:config and I found one that may be what you wanted me to find--

Preference
useragentswitcher.1.useragent
Status
user set
Type
string
Value
Mosilla/4.0(compatible;MSIE 7.0; Windows NT 5.1)

There was a total of 26 items listed under "Preference Name" that started with useragentswitcher. Are these a part of some (unknown to me) software package similar to the ones others are recommending to me in this thread? As you can see, I don't know a great deal about the computer box--I am mainly a computer user. Any help you can send my way would be greatly appreciated.
