No,
went through this several weeks ago, didn't work either

the 'browser.download.pluginOverrideTypes' isn't even listed in seamonkey's about:config, I'm sure it applies to firefoxes more developed app manager, and I think I did the rdf delete as well (didn't happen as well). Will do it all again when I get time today and find if I missed something. Thanks anyways, just wondering if somebody else had to go through the same and had a quick answer

Yea, I checked this article several weeks ago.
Applies to every attachment type except for jpg.

(It may be implied somewhere that the 'Browser' is
after all the original viewer for jpg's, but still,
I'm looking for a way to break the browser being the
default app)

Then perhaps reading it again may help? Or have you tried this?

Resetting download actions

This applies to all versions of Firefox and Mozilla Suite/SeaMonkey

If problems arise or if you want to restore the default set of file
download actions, do the following [8]:

    1. Type about:config into the address bar.
    2. Find the preference browser.download.pluginOverrideTypes and, if
it is present, right-click on it and select reset.
    3. Find the preference plugin.disable_full_page_plugin_for_types and,
if it is present, right-click on it and select reset.
    4. Exit the browser, then open the profile folder (the profile folder
is hidden by default in Windows 2000/XP/Vista and Linux; read this if
you need help finding it).
    5. Delete (or rename) the file mimeTypes.rdf. Caution: There is also
a mimeTypes.rdf file in the program folder. Do not delete it by mistake.
