It's not too many images when the page is the result of a search for images. Selecting one image launches the image's page in a new tab. (My preferences are set for "Open links meant to open a new window in ... A new tab in the current window".) In that new page, the image is still a thumbnail. Selecting the thumbnail gives me a new page with large image; this new page is in the same tab. Selecting the back arrow returns me to the page with the thumbnail, which was the first page for that tab. Thus, further use of the back arrow was disabled. I then changed my preferences to "Open links meant to open a new window in ... In the current tab/window". After viewing the enlarged image, selecting the back arrow once returned me to the page with the thumbnail. The back arrow remained enabled. Selecting it again returned me to the page with many thumbnails. Finally, I changed my preferences to "Open links meant to open a new window in ... A new window" and confirmed that the new page with the image as a thumbnail did indeed open in a new window. Thus, everything seems to be working okay. -- David E. Ross <http://www.rossde.com/>.
