Nope... have never used that option... (machines nowadays don't need it ;-)

Very interesting... have never observed that behavior... good information.

My primary computer that ends up with the multiple processes uses a "core2" processor, so, that might be a factor, but, since I frequently dig into preferences and mail settings to answer questions and educate myself, my primary suspicions are there... i.e. something starts a sm process thread that escapes seamonkey's normal shutdown sequence.
