I'm game, how do you add a file type to SeaMonkey's "Helper
Applications' listing. If its by editing the prefs.js file thats OK by
me, I just don't know how to word it. If its through a SeaMonkey option
then I am unaware of it.
By the way logic says its not a registry problem else the media files
wouldn't play outside of SeaMonkey.

In SM 1119, I can go to
Preferences/Navigator/Helper Applications
A box pops up for Helper Applications
There is a button for New Type.
I click that, then box pops up wanting info for the new type.
Mine Type = application/wmv
Description = movie
Extension = wmv
Below that is what to do.
I set mine to open with the app of my choice and location.
In my case its: C:\Program Files\MPLAYERC.EXE.
Then click ok and out.
Hopefully your SM is somewhat similar.
