Fri, 09 Sep 2011 14:33:29 -0700, /NoOp/:
$ locate wingding
/home/g/.fonts/wingding.ttf
/usr/lib/cinelerra/fonts/wingding.ttf
/usr/share/groff/1.20.1/font/devlj4/generate/wingdings.map
/usr/share/perl5/PDF/API2/Resource/Font/CoreFont/wingdings.pm
So I dispute all the comments stating that Mozilla browsers can't
display Wingding fonts. They certainly appear just fine for me.
Seems on your system the Wingdings font has character map which maps
the J character to the smiley glyph in it. The Wingdings font on
Windows doesn't have such a character map.
Anyway - mapping J to a glyph which doesn't represent J is pretty
much a hack.
