That's fine.
Ideally the way it should work is that you should be able to disable
either or both of the f=f functions for display and/or send, and that I
should be able to enable them and both send and display should work
properly, especially send.
Currently the send f=f function is not working properly, but is broken
in the most important part of its function, that of retaining existing
f=f as a thread progresses and the lines get longer because of the
accumulation of quote marks. When the lines start 'breaking' or wrapping
is when we get ugly shortlines. That ugliness which is also hard to read
is seen regardless of how you have your SM configured to display or send.
To me, the the send f=f is the more important of the two and it should
work the way it is supposed to and is specified in RFCs 2646 and 3676 to
prevent the problems with which we are all familiar.
