Eureka!!! Thank you!!! Thank you!!!. Yipeeee... All fixed. Thank
you Jens.

Such a simple thing to try!!! Create a new profile, reset some
preferences, reload Prefbar [how could anyone live without that :] and
I was back in business. The new profile immediately fixed the image
problem and I think it has also fixed the 'Directory Memory' problem.
I've done a number of tests which seem to show Seamonkey is doing
everything I want now and I'm so relieved that I don't have to move
to another browser... :DDD

I didn't post here just to whinge, I spent hours and hours on both
problems, going through all the configuration settings umpteen times.
Searching the Web for solutions and working through all the commands
without any success. Then one line from Jens and I'm back in
business. Definitely going to keep a second backup profile set up the
way I like to use Seamonkey now.

What I can't understand is how I got into such misconfiguration
pickle. I'm not a fiddler. I had a working browser and just loaded
updates when they became available. The missing image problem has been
with me for more than a year but the "directory Memory' problem only
presented itself one or two upgrades ago.

Maybe Seamonkey could use a 'Reset all settings to factory defaults'
button? [Without wiping bookmarks of course...]
No matter what I get from software, I always want more... :)

Thanks heaps Jens. Also thanks to other responders. This great
browser also has an active and supportive community.

Now if we could only get Microsoft to follow this support example.
I really want a 'Reset Excel to Ver. 2003 Menus' button so I can use
the 2007-2010 ribbon menus as Christmas decorations.

Cheers to all, Doc Crock.
