So, SM cannot show the saved headers which are in the .txt file.
In SM 2.8 I show exactly the same headers no matter how saved.
I am under Win7 pro 32 bits:
Build identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; rv:11.0) Gecko/20120312
Firefox/11.0 SeaMonkey/2.8
And i agree I show exactly the same headers no matter how saved ....
What i complain for is:
When i saved it as .txt notepad show the headers SM also show the
headers.
BUT when i saved as .txt, then **i* *change* *the* *extension* *to*
*.eml** - double-click on it = opens in SM
And in this case SM cannot show the headers.
Sure enough, I can trick SM into doing that too, if I go to the
trouble. The info is in the file, but the browser does not display it.
I also noticed that there seems to be a line break after each of the
spaces between field name and field data, so perhaps SM is ignoring
lines that don't begin with approved field names? If I go into the eml
file with Notepad and edit out those line breaks, SM then displays the
data correctly. It works the same whether I use a space or a tab to
separate field name/field data.
But why change the extension when saving and then change it back
later? Why not just leave it as eml and let SM handle it properly?
Because .txt files are smaller than .eml files. But, i have seen other
points not handled by SM when i fool it changing .txt to .eml.
So you are right; It's better to save it as .eml. Thanks for the analysis.
