I know that Microsoft no longer support Windows 2000 but for personal reasons (connected to some programs I run) I still use it A couple of hours ago Sea Monkey automatically updated itself to the latest version and - unlike Firefox - gave me no warning that this wouldn't run on W2000 Now I can't open my SeaMonkey program and get error messages if I try about kernel 32
Bryan, unfortunately, the endless march of time, and technology, continues. Noting that if you stay with an old version of SM, you will, eventually, experience problems. I can relate with your problem, as I still have a functioning installation of Win98 on my Desktop computer. It ran out of puff for SM at about Ver 1.1.19. However, there could be a work-around........
At the bottom of http://www.seamonkey-project.org/releases/#2.10 you will find links to all previous versions of SM. Download the version that was working for you (probably SM 2.9.1), install it and set it up to use your current profile, then go Edit->Preferences, expand the "Advanced" Category, select "Software Installation" and then uncheck the "Automatically check for updates" under SeaMonkey on the right hand side.
This will leave you with the version of SM that you download! When you are able to update your system, you can update the version.
